MNRC Foundation announces Humanitarian Sportsman Recognition

The Master National Retriever Foundation announces a new Humanitarian Sportsman Recognition award for individuals or groups within the Retriever Hunting Test (RHT) Sport that participate in the Master National Retriever Hunting Test program and provide humanitarian services to either those in the sport or outside the sport.

Can your dog food cause heart disease in your dogs?

The US Food and Drug Administration is investigating the link between certain pet foods, many labeled as "grain-free,"  and canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers, breeds not disposed to DCM, began being reported with DCM. All reported cases had consistently eaten grain alternatives in their diets The AKC article is at https://tinyurl.com/yy764myg. MRC donation to help animals affected by the Paradise fire

The MRC Board has made a $1,000.00 donation to the North Valley Animal Disaster Response Group. They are the "boots on the ground" all volunteer organization coordinating the care, feeding and housing of the literally hundreds of animals in the aftermath of the Paradise fire.
They have a website www.nvadg.org if you want to read more about this dedicated group of volunteers. They are being assisted by the National Guard and have their hands full! Master National Success for Goose & Dennis

Dennis Danielson and his good dog, Old Man's High Flying Goose MH  just returned from the Master National last week in Roseburg Oregon with a Pewter plate and Ribbon in hand! Dennis and Goose were the only pair from MRC to come home with the pass- our sincerest CONGRATULATIONS to them both for passing this awesome test!

History of and how to enter a Hunt Test

Not that many years ago, the Club Secretaries job for putting on a Hunt Test was incredibly difficult. All the entries were received via what is now called “snail mail” mail. Oftentimes special deliveries were overnighted and came pouring in hours before the deadline approached. The envelopes were put in a grocery bag and shaken up. Usually several members gathered together for the “drawing” of the names and thus created the running order. There are 3 words on this trophy.  They are Teamwork, Perseverance and Achievement. How does Nick The Dog and his handler meet these criteria?  His formal name is Grand Champion MACH JK Blackngolds Nick of Time SH RN MXS MJB WC VCX ADHF.

Teamwork.
